Important notice about the
Sailing School in 2015

We had hoped to run our Sailing School in 2015, but the town is planning a signficant harbour construction project during the summer, and as a consequence we will be unable to run the Sailing School this year.

Our hope is that we will be able to bring the Sailing School back in 2016, and we will endeavor to announce more details as early as possible.

Thank you for your understanding.

The Canadian Yachting Association’s CANSail program provide safe, standardized instruction for recreation and competition in sailing dinghies. CANSail Levels 1 & 2 are the introductory levels covering safety, seamanship, and boat handling. Beginners are taught the basic skills of sailing.

The Sail Georgina sailing school is taught using boats provided for this purpose by the Ontario Sailing Association (OSA).  Our OSA certified instructors will first teach the theory on land, and then the participants will take to the water and sail for themselves, while the instructors follow (and teach) from a coach boat.  You can register for the school online. Don't forget to watch the short Sail Georgina videos from previous years.

You can also watch a general video introduction to the CANSail program from the the Royal Victoria Yacht Club.
